How did you get into your practice area?
I got into intellectual property because, as a lawyer in the Bay Area in the 1990s, that was where the most exciting cases were. I got into representing law firms because it is especially rewarding to help fellow lawyers resolve issues facing them.
Who are your typical clients?
Startup companies, large, well-established tech companies, and law firms.
Describe one of your most interesting or memorable cases.
We recently completed arbitration for a major law firm accused of malpractice in an IP matter. Trying the case involved both malpractice issues and trying a full patent case—infringement, invalidity, damages. It was a fascinating intersection of subject matter in one trial.
What other passions/interests do you have?
I love theater. I see a fair number of plays, and I serve on the board of a local non-profit theater company. Seeing the commitment and dedication of the artists is inspiring.
